Copper Springs is a behavioral hospital that treats people and their families with inpatient and outpatient mental health and addiction treatment. The facility is located at 10550 W McDowell Road in Avondale, Arizona, in the Phoenix area. Copper Springs is dedicated to offering a high-quality treatment experience and making a positive difference in the lives of individuals seeking sobriety and mental health.

Our treatment program at Copper Springs for a person with mental health and addiction concerns takes a holistic approach to treatment, addressing both diseases at the same time. Integrated treatment can aid in the stabilization of co-occurring disorder symptoms and lay the groundwork for a more successful recovery. We combine elements from both our mental health and addiction treatment services. We also use the evidence-based Hazelden Co-occurring Disorders Program (, which is endorsed by the Dartmouth Psychiatric Research Center.

Our team of health specialists will provide you with a no-obligation, full psychological and physical evaluation before you begin treatment at our facilities. We’ll assess your safety and stability, among other things. Inpatient mental health care may be advised for people who are in crisis – individuals who are at danger of injuring themselves or others, or who are unable to function in their daily lives.

In our Phoenix, Arizona facilities, we treat the following illnesses:

Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD)
Bipolar Disorder
Borderline Personality Disorder
Suicidal Ideation

If you decide that our facilities are the appropriate fit for you, you’ll be admitted as soon as possible so you can get started on the road to recovery. For each person, that journey will be different.

At Copper Springs, our medical team, including doctors, nurses, therapists, and other specialists, will work with you to develop a treatment plan that addresses both your immediate and long-term requirements. Individual, group, and family therapy, as well as holistic therapies including relaxation, yoga, art, and music, are all available in most treatment plans.

As you gain new abilities and acquire new coping mechanisms, your therapy plan will evolve. If you have an alcohol or drug addiction, your treatment plan may include a safe, medically assisted detox period under the supervision of medical personnel at Copper Springs.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), as well as mindfulness and relaxation training, are some of the specific talk therapies available. Copper Springs will work with you to determine which approaches are most comfortable for you.

You’ll receive one-of-a-kind services during your stay, just as each treatment plan is unique. We encourage patients to stick to a schedule, but you’ll also have free time at Copper Springs.

Every day, a range of group therapies are available, and you’ll meet with your psychiatrist on a regular basis. Family visitation is permitted on a daily basis but is not required. Some patients also appreciate the camaraderie of peer and community support groups, such as the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) or a spiritual group, which meet at our facilities.

You’ll enjoy a semi-private room with a bathroom at Copper Springs mental health treatment centers. Outside, you may relax and enjoy our well-kept grounds. Indoors, enjoy our big community rooms, activity and leisure facilities, and a well-equipped fitness facility. You’ll also get three hot meals every day, made on-site by our chefs and served in our cafeteria. Special dietary requirements are easily met.

Copper Springs will work with you to design a personalized treatment plan based on your assessment. We start planning for your safe and sustainable discharge from inpatient treatment on the first day.

Many of our patients migrate to our outpatient programs after completing their inpatient treatment. We may suggest our partial hospitalization program (PHP), which consists of treatment, medication management, and health education over the course of a whole day or evening. We also provide an intensive outpatient program (IOP) that focuses on long-term recovery.
