• An approved ORT dispensing pharmacy and an appropriate driving distance from the residential service should be advised.
• A written extended ORT prescription should be copied in the dispensing pharmacist and received for the proposed treatment period.
• Details of the ORT program should be given, including their dispensing pharmacist, approved prescriber, and the address of their current dosing point.

How much does it cost?

A person is required to pay some money during their stay, usually a portion of Centrelink’s payment. The amount depends on the benefits people receive from rehab and the payment type. The upfront admission fee method is also used (consisting of the first two weeks of treatment and a medication levy of the client). If self-funding (not having Centrelink benefits), a person has to pay for a complete six-week cycle treatment in advance. 

How does admission take place?

Referrals are accepted in rehab, but if a person is over 18 years old and is using drugs or alcohol, they can apply through the website. Logan House rehabilitation also accepts online provider referrals from other health specialists, government organizations, services, and the community, or they can even fax their referrals to 07 5546 8223.

Admission timeframes may be different. People should be assured that the pre-treatment team will support them until they are admitted into live-in service. Once the referral is received, their support begins.

Can my family stay in contact?

During the stay, families are welcome to meet their loved ones in a residential treatment program. An individual can have scheduled access to their mobile phone in a dedicated session to call their family, and they can also receive and send letters. Parents can also come and visit their children at the Logan House rehab as well as children can go to their parents on weekdays between business hours. The clinical team approves these visits earlier on, and the children under treatment must go along with an adult.
