About New Focus Academy

New Focus Academy is a residential support school designed specifically for adolescents aged 12-18 with autism. Our mission is to empower these young individuals to improve their independence, build self-esteem, and develop healthy relationships. We offer a comprehensive range of programs and therapies, including individualized education programs, life skills training, individual therapy and coaching, experiential therapies, and social development groups.

Our Approach

At New Focus Academy, we utilize a structured schedule to provide a predictable atmosphere and routine, allowing our students to thrive. On a weekly basis, students participate in academics and study hours, therapy sessions, physical activities, group therapy, and weekly recreational outings to activities such as rock climbing, a ropes course, and biking. Our small class sizes and 2 students per dorm room setting enable students to build their independence, relationship skills, and social support.

Our practicality-based curriculum is designed to help students develop the skills they need to succeed in the world. Our experienced staff are dedicated to supporting each student’s journey from start to finish, providing personalized treatment for autism spectrum disorder and a range of other conditions, including personality disorders, ADHD, ADD, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.
