Provider overview
Smithfield Detoxification Service is Turning Point’s inpatient drug and alcohol detox unit on Thompson Street, Manchester M4 5FY. The provider describes a 22-bed service for men and women aged 18 and over.
The unit is staffed around the clock by mental-health nurses and support workers, with peer support, group sessions, individual keyworking and recovery activities. The weekday contact hours displayed on the service page should not be confused with the unit’s 24-hour care provision.
Typical alcohol detox is described as seven days and opiate detox as 21 days. Other detox plans are arranged individually before admission. These are detox episodes, not a universal long-term residential rehabilitation programme.
Referrals from community drug and alcohol services and private referrals are welcomed, with assessment and discharge planning. Contact 0161 827 8570 or rehab@turning-point.co.uk.
No universal weekly fee was verified. Confirm eligibility, funding approval, waiting time, exact duration and any private charges, including currency, taxes, medications and aftercare. Turning Point’s general free-support messaging does not establish that every privately referred detox placement is free.
