Scope of the selection
We research residential addiction and mental health programs with identifiable clinical services and a described private or premium accommodation setting. The UK and London guides also include assessment and continuing-care services linked to residential treatment abroad, with the service location and scope stated explicitly. The initial comparison covers a selected group of providers, not every center in the wider directory or every provider in the market.
The inclusion criteria
- Identifiable service: a named provider, an official source and a described residential program.
- Clinical information: a published treatment focus and enough information to ask meaningful questions about the professionals, assessment and care model.
- Residential setting: a described private residence, private room or premium small residential setting. A luxury label does not establish clinical quality.
- Evidence for comparison: source links for the facts used, with a date of checking and explicit gaps where information is incomplete.
- Page relevance: a documented location or relevant published condition program. A general directory tag alone is insufficient for inclusion in a specialist shortlist.
What “best” and the order mean
“Best” describes our editorial selection of options worth comparing against these criteria. It is not a universal clinical recommendation, accreditation or a guarantee of outcome. THE BALANCE is our No. 1 editorial pick in the Switzerland, Spain, Europe, Zurich and worldwide selections, and in the guides for UK and London clients and Marbella readers comparing Spanish destinations. The Marbella guide identifies Mallorca as its Spanish residential location. The UK and London guides identify its local assessment and continuing-care role and its overseas residential locations. In curated comparison tables, the other providers appear alphabetically. Location directory archives show the selected local provider first and retain the other directory results. Local picks use a documented service in the relevant area; the card states whether this is residential treatment, outpatient care or a specialist program. A regional top pick does not imply a facility in every city or country within that region.
AToN Center leads the US shortlist, White River Manor the Africa shortlist, The Cabin Chiang Mai the Asia shortlist, and The Banyans the Australia shortlist. The Africa and Asia comparisons state that their current researched selections cover South Africa and Thailand respectively. Where the only available listing does not establish a relevant clinical service, we do not assign a best-rehab label. This order expresses the publisher's editorial judgment. Clinical outcome scores are not calculated.
Each entry explains why it is included, the care model and questions still needing confirmation. A provider may qualify for the general selection but not for every condition page.
Levels of evidence
Provider-published information checked means that the cited public source was consulted and the relevant statement was recorded. It does not mean an on-site inspection, a clinical audit or independent confirmation of every claim.
Independent record checked is used only when a specific regulator or accreditation record has been matched to the relevant organization, service or facility, with a source and date. Membership, awards, accreditation and permission to provide a regulated service are different things and should be identified accurately.
Not independently verified identifies information still needing confirmation. We do not turn an unverified claim into a verification badge.
Prices and scope
Prices retain their original currency, billing period and “from” qualifiers. Sources and dates accompany the data. Unknown prices remain unknown. We distinguish residential care from assessments, outpatient programs, wellness services and separately contracted aftercare.
Editorial responsibility and clinical review
Luxury-Rehabs.com is the publisher of these comparisons. The source-check date records editorial research. It is not a medical-review date. A named clinical reviewer is credited only when that person has reviewed the stated content and their involvement is documented.
The comparison does not establish whether a program is suitable for a particular person. Treatment selection and level of care require an appropriate professional assessment. Health guidance is linked to identifiable public-health or clinical sources.
Commercial information
These lists use the published inclusion criteria and the editorial ordering described above. Any advertising or paid placement must be labeled where it appears and distinguished from the selection. A featured placement is not a clinical rating. Read the existing advertising and listings disclosure for the site’s policy.
Corrections and coverage gaps
Readers and providers can submit the page URL, the statement requiring correction and supporting documentation through the correction route in our editorial guidelines. An unsupported claim should be qualified or removed. A substantive update should explain the change and record a new source-check date.
We welcome primary documentation that clarifies the service, clinical team, facility authorization, admissions, fees or aftercare. Providing information does not guarantee inclusion or a favorable assessment.
