Formerly known as Collier County Mental Health Clinic, David Lawrence Center was established in 1969 out of concerns shared by citizens regarding the lack of mental health services in their community. The staff members, unfortunately, do not allow patients to smoke cigarettes or use any other type of tobacco products. Those who are addicted to tobacco can request nicotine replacement options. Some clients may also qualify to receive complimentary nicotine patches and can bring in nicotine, lozenges, and patches when they come for treatment. They cannot bring nicotine gum with them to the premises of the rehab. Clients also cannot use vapor or electronic cigarettes during their stay onsite.
