Nushama is a multi-location outpatient psychedelic-wellness and mental-health provider with clinics in Midtown Manhattan and New City, New York, and Aventura, Florida. It is not a residential rehabilitation or medical-detox facility.
Current location pages list medically supervised IV ketamine infusions, Spravato and integration support; the Manhattan clinic also lists one-day and multi-day TMS. Treatments and availability differ by location, so eligibility and the intended clinic must be confirmed.
Nushama publishes USD 4,800 for its 19-session ketamine package, USD 900 for an individual ketamine journey, and USD 4,950 for one-day TMS. Its pricing page gives USD 9,450 for KARE and describes intake as included, separately lists a USD 500 KARE intake, and also quotes USD 9,950 including intake when paid in full. These statements need written clarification. Ketamine itself is not currently insurance-covered, while some office visits, IV procedures and medications may qualify; Spravato insurance is offered at New York and Florida clinics subject to plan criteria.
Choose the clinic and treatment separately
Nushama’s location pages distinguish Manhattan, Rockland County and Aventura. Manhattan is at 515 Madison Avenue, on the 21st floor; the Rockland clinic is at 200 East Eckerson Road, Suite 280, in New City; and Aventura is at 2999 Northeast 191st Street, Suite 200. These are separate appointment locations, not interchangeable names for one facility.
The pages describe IV ketamine and Spravato services, while the Manhattan page also identifies TMS options. Ask which treatment is actually available at the receiving clinic and which appointments must happen in person. Travel planning should cover assessment, treatment, observation and follow-up, rather than just the time of an infusion. Confirm access needs, the clinician responsible for the plan and arrangements for getting home before paying for travel. A service appearing elsewhere in the network does not establish that it is available at your chosen address.
A ketamine series includes preparation and follow-up
The patient journey page describes medical assessment, preparation, infusions, integration and follow-up. It gives an example of six infusions over three to six weeks. The referring-provider page instead describes an acute series over two to three weeks. Obtain an individual calendar that reconciles these published examples.
Assessment includes review of medical history and medications, with testing where appropriate. Preparation and integration are described as parts of the program, rather than treating the infusion alone as the entire course. The referring-provider information also describes collaboration with the person’s existing mental health team. Ask who communicates with your regular prescriber or therapist, what consent is needed and which follow-up appointments are included. Confirm whether an integration session is psychotherapy or coaching, who provides it and how concerns between appointments are handled. A proposed series should also explain when progress will be reviewed and how a decision about any additional treatment will be made.
IV ketamine and Spravato are different options
Nushama’s Spravato page distinguishes IV ketamine used off label for depression from prescription esketamine nasal spray. It describes psychiatric evaluation before treatment, insurance verification and prior authorization, and administration under clinical supervision. The page advises allowing about two and a half hours for a visit, including the observation period.
Ask the team to name the medicine and route being proposed, rather than referring to every option simply as ketamine therapy. Discuss previous treatment, current prescriptions and the reasons for choosing one pathway. The clinic’s page contains broad descriptions of potential benefits, but an individual response cannot be promised. Confirm the initial schedule, review points and possible ongoing visits, along with the cost of the medication, observation and associated appointments. A low advertised medication copayment should not be assumed to represent the entire visit charge. The clinical recommendation and the insurer’s authorization also need to be distinguished.
Spravato has specific eligibility and monitoring requirements
The FDA’s September 2026 Spravato Medication Guide describes use for adult treatment-resistant depression with or without an oral antidepressant. Its other listed use, for depressive symptoms in adults with major depression and suicidal thoughts or actions, involves an oral antidepressant. These distinctions do not extend approval to every ketamine formulation or proposed use.
The guide requires supervised administration and at least two hours of monitoring. It describes risks including sedation, dissociation, breathing problems and misuse, and says Spravato is available through its restricted REMS program. Patients should discuss their medical history and medications with the treating professional and arrange transportation; the guide advises against driving until the next day after restful sleep. It also states that prevention of suicide has not been established and that treatment does not replace hospitalization when needed. Confirm the receiving clinic’s arrangements and individual suitability rather than treating an outpatient appointment as crisis admission.
The one-day TMS offer needs a separate discussion
The Nushama ONE page describes 20 stimulation sessions in one day at the Manhattan flagship, using an Ampa One device. It distinguishes this offer from a multiweek TMS option and describes psychiatric intake and individualized mapping before treatment. Optional medication is also discussed, so the complete proposal should identify whether medication is involved.
Ask the clinician to explain the exact protocol, its evidence and regulatory status, expected review points and alternatives. Device clearance should not be treated as proof of every claim about a particular accelerated schedule. The page itself identifies circumstances needing special assessment, including seizure history, certain implants, untreated substance use and a crisis requiring inpatient care. Disclose relevant history before making a booking. Confirm what follow-up the quoted program includes and what happens if further care is recommended. Convenience, a shorter calendar or the absence of an infusion does not by itself establish that this is the appropriate treatment.
Read the prices as distinct treatment packages
The pricing page describes the USD 4,800 package as 19 sessions: six preparation sessions, six infusions, six integration sessions and one medical follow-up. It therefore should not be read as 19 infusions. The page separately lists medical intake and several other packages, including single journeys and TMS.
Request a written, itemized quote for the particular service. For KARE, the different intake and total-price statements need reconciliation before payment. Confirm whether assessment, integration, optional medication, additional visits and follow-up are included, and which amounts are payable even if treatment does not proceed. Package names and a session count do not establish a residential stay, unlimited treatment or an individual clinical recommendation.
Insurance questions differ by treatment
Nushama’s insurance information says IV ketamine itself is not currently covered. It describes Spravato insurance arrangements at its New York and Florida clinics, subject to the person’s plan and clinical criteria.
Ask which clinician and billing entity will submit each charge and whether they participate in your specific plan. Distinguish prior authorization from a promise that every expense will be paid. Request an estimate separating the medicine, administration or observation, clinical appointments and any preparation or integration services. If reimbursement requires submitting documents yourself, clarify which documents will be provided and when. Benefits can differ between treatments and between people insured by the same company. A discussion about possible reimbursement should not be used to assume that a privately paid package will ultimately be covered in full.
Medical care and integration involve different roles
The team page lists medical providers, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, nurses, integration staff and care coordinators. It identifies Steven Radowitz as chief medical officer and Mark Braunstein as senior psychiatrist across the named locations. Other listings identify particular clinic assignments, including Rockland and New York.
Use those distinctions to ask who will assess you, who supervises the treatment visit and who provides subsequent support. A network leadership listing does not mean the same professional is physically present at every clinic or every appointment. Integration staff also have different listed roles; ask whether the proposed session is delivered by a therapist or an integration coach and how it connects with your existing care. Confirm how clinical concerns reach an appropriate medical professional between visits. The relevant question is the actual team and coverage for your course, not simply the number of names appearing on a website.
The Manhattan rooms are treatment spaces
The flagship description places the clinic on the 21st floor of 515 Madison Avenue and describes 18 rooms, art, reclining chairs and spaces for preparation and integration. That room count describes the clinic’s environment; it is not a residential bed count.
Ask about the room used for your appointment, accessibility, sensory preferences and whether a support person can accompany you during any part of the visit. The page provides public-transit and parking information, but travel arrangements must also fit the treatment’s post-visit restrictions. A comfortable room or an attractive design does not demonstrate clinical effectiveness. Plan any overnight accommodation separately if traveling, and confirm which visits require you to remain nearby. The clinic appointment, transportation and a hotel stay should be treated as separate arrangements with their own costs.
Scholarships require a separate eligibility decision
Nushama’s scholarship information describes a means-based application process and monthly consideration of support. Financial assistance is a separate question from clinical suitability, and an application should not be treated as an approved place or a guaranteed free course.
Ask which treatment and clinic an award can cover, what financial information is required and when a decision will be communicated. Clarify whether medical intake or other charges remain payable and whether support applies to a complete course or selected sessions. If the proposed calendar changes, check whether the award remains valid. Keep enough time between the funding decision and travel or payment commitments to understand the terms. People considering assistance should receive the same explanation of the proposed treatment, alternatives, risks and follow-up as anyone purchasing a package directly.
Check cancellation terms before reserving a course
The published cancellation policy asks for notice by noon on the previous business day. It describes different potential charges for different appointments, including USD 50 for a missed medical intake and USD 350 for a journey. Those categories should be checked against the particular booking and current written terms.
Ask how to notify the clinic, how weekends or holidays affect the deadline and what happens if illness or a clinical concern prevents treatment. A multivisit course can involve several appointments with different staff, so confirm whether changing one visit also changes preparation, integration or follow-up sessions. Keep a written record of any agreed adjustment. If symptoms or medications change before an appointment, contact the clinical team rather than treating the booking as an instruction to proceed regardless. Clarify any refund or credit arrangements before paying for a package.
